The Helix project has been on the go since 2003, a result of an idea to create a local greenspace that connects and engages with the communities it reaches. Helix Park opened its doors to visitors in 2013, with The Kelpies constructed the next year, on 21 April 2014.
This outdoor recreational park land can be found between Falkirk and Grangemouth, covering over 350 hectares of green space and fun for visitors of all ages to enjoy the outdoors. Some of the facilities include a lagoon for water activities, splash fountains, café and adventure play zone.
The Helix is also home to The Kelpies. Standing at 30 metres tall, and weighing over 300 tonnes each, The Kelpies are the world’s largest equine sculptures towering over the Forth and Clyde canal. Visitors to The Kelpies can take part in a fascinating guided tour, discovering the art, history and engineering behind Scotland's newest "must see" visitor attraction!

The Helix is located just off the main motorway routes in Central Scotland. Follow the brown tourist signs around Falkirk to reach us.

By Train.
There are 2 main train stations in Falkirk that are close to The Helix: Falkirk High (located 3 miles away) and Falkirk Grahamston (located 2 miles away).

By Bus from Falkirk High Station:
Join the First Bus Number 2 bus for Bo'ness at Slammanan Road approx. 2 minutes walk from the rail station. This bus will stop on Falkirk Road opposite Falkirk Stadium (watch out for the pink bus stop) this stop is the side entrance to the Helix Park.
